Land Trust Day – Rocky Hill – Birds of North Smithfield & Kid’s Tag Hunt

The North Smithfield Land Trust will conduct a Birds of North Smithfield event hosted by Roseanne Sherry and a Kid's Tag Hunt on August 22rd, 2015. The Birds of North Smithfield will begin at 11:00am. The Kid's Tag Hunt will begin at 12:00. Both events will complete by 1:00pm.

The trail head is across the street from 382 Rocky Hill Road. Park on the side of the road under the power lines.

The entire trail is about 3/4 of a mile. There is a new bridge to cross a small stream.  Come join us to learn the new trail!

Here's how the Kid's Tag Hunt will work:

You will sign up at a table near the Trail Head. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Your child will be given a tag with a number. The Hunt is to find the tag with the matching number somewhere on the Rocky Hill Trail. Each child returning with two matching tags (numbers) will be given a small prize.

So, there is no need to run, race or hurry. No need to show up early to beat the rush. There will be no chance to find tags a day early either, the tags will be placed just prior to the Hunt.  However, there will be only 20 tags available.  Based on prior participation in North Smithfield Land Trust Events, we do not expect to run out.

Bonus! Some tags will have a special question on the back to answer about where the tag was found. There's a small bonus for getting it correct.

Advice:  Please wear appropriate bug preventive and tick preventive sprays and clothing.  DEET is recomended for bug repellent and Permethrin treated clothing is recommended for tick protection.
